This might be a bit out of subject, but what about having official videos on one´s Myspace-page? I have a couple music-videos, Armagoddamnmotherfuckinggeddon and Putting Holes In Happines for example, videos that you can´t up until now buy on dvd. (And, by the way, how can you get Dead to the World-tour on dvd on legal way? I have it on VHS, but after the player is gone...the cassette is copyprotected)
I completely understand and respect the wish to protect copyrighted material, but at the same time having them up there should generate some sort of marketing value for the artist too, i believe. Those videos are there because i think they are beautiful pieces of art and i want people visiting my page to see them, and at any case the videos are easily found on Youtube. it´s not like i´m posing as the creator of the music or the videos, which is what´s happened to some paintings of mine. But sure, I guess it´s not preffered to have the videos up, so i´ll just remove them.
I don´t download anything at all. Ever. but i´ve bought a great deal of Manson-albums, dvd:s, merchandise, Mansinthe and books and been to three shows in 2,5 years. And i´ll keep spending a reasonable amount of my culture-budget on MM-products.
