Okay, in the other topic it seems to fall on deaf ears but how does this video promote domestic abuse? Which part of the video screams "hey kids, its cool to kill someone you love?" :S Furthermore, if you do think this video promotes domestic abuse do you also think Irriversible promotes rape and murder?

Also, I can't remember who but someone made reference to something Lady Gaga said and then went on to say they can no longer say Manson doesn't promote violence since he...pretended to murder someone in a music video? But wait, why is it okay for Lady Gaga to have a video where she kills her boyfriend but when Manson kills someone in a video, he is wrong? :S

Does the I Don't Like The Drugs(but the drugs like me) video promote suicide? Cutting off your arm?

Does the Coma White video promote assasinating President's?

I fully understand that the Running To The Edge Of The World video may be difficult for people to watch and that is completely fine. I have friends and family that due to thier past experiences, they would never be able to watch that. Or Irriversible. It is an extremely emotionally draining video. It's difficult to watch and not feel like crying or feeling depressed. Again though, no where does any of that suggest that the video is promoting anything or making fun of anything or making any kind of abuse seem cool.

I just spoke to someone from TMZ on the phone for about five mins. I asked if they could possibly get Evan Rachel Wood's reaction to the video, I told them that I believed that the video was released exactly a year after ERW announced to Star Magazine that Manson and Her had officially split, told her to go to marilynmanson.com to see the video. I gave her a run down of the video, and was told that they would look into it and would try to get ERW's response if possible.

The bottom line is that this video too, just like these films, is a work of fiction. As such, some fans believe, it stands on its own like a genuine work of art, presenting violence in its purest form as the random act perpetrated out of a broken heart, when reason no longer fits in the equation.

“Running to the Edge of the World” is the “ballad” of the recently released album, and it speaks of the moment when love is gone and nothing – not even hate – can fill the void left behind. It was presumably written shortly after the rocker broke up from Evan Rachel Wood wherefrom the bitter accents on the track. The video doesn’t actually start until the 4-minute mark; but, when it does, it does so in the most gruesome manner.

The first 4 minutes of the video consist of nothing else than a close-up on Manson’s face as he seems to want to hide behind a veil or something like it. He’s in pain, clearly, and there are sequences in which he seems to be on the verge of crying. He’s also angry and resentful – after the 4-minute mark, viewers too learn why, as they become privy to a heinous and brutal crime committed by Manson himself. Fans call the video “art,” critics still hold their own on that he’s just taken things somewhat too far.

Amen to that! Finally...someone seems to understand what I have been trying to say all along. It seems as if the reviewer actually reviewed the piece they were critiquing, for once. Well done, Softpedia writer. :)

can we just face it already? that marilyn manson is more than irrelevant to the mainstream? because you can talk all the shit you want about record companies, the radio, and bands that are mainstream but slipknot gets more than enough promotion and they're still the same band they've always been. plus, who are we to do promotion? you're saying all the album has is a few posters. so we can't do anything since there's no commercial for the radio/tv.

and another...you say this album has no promotion other than posters...fucking lol. he's on TOUR for the album! and maybe interscope is paying him no mind because of 'fucking making hits' 'fuck the goddamn tv and the radio'. only saying.

I have a personal goal. I hope you all are able to help me. DC101 is just a regular radio station in my area, however it is owned by Clear Channel. I would like to get this song played on DC101, which would most likely encourage Clear Channel to place this song into rotation.

Here is my proposal to you guys, On the dates of December 1 to December 4, we have a rotation of 12 callers, who would call the request line between the hours of 12 noon and 6 PM EST. That would be 1 caller every 30 minutes for 6 hours, if i'm correct. We could work together to organize a calling chart of users who give their word they'd call during their allotted time, it is a toll free number so anyone would be able to do join us for free..assuming they have access to a phone.

12 to 6 is when this station gets heavy listening, and their are DJs and operators staffed to take requests.

Hope to get some feedback on the idea, and thank you so much if you are willing or able to help.
