I don't foresee any media channels airing this video. Aside from the woman-beating, all you've got is Manson standing in front of a window for the first few minutes of the thing. Casual viewers would not continue watching that long enough to get to the woman-beating.
I'm really baffled that this video is being used to promote such a viable single. I don't understand how the video will sell records, so, really, what's the purpose here?
If the video was created for the purpose of provoking thought, well, these are my thoughts. I think domestic violence is a seriously underreported and silent problem in North America, and it saddens me to see an artist who I have had a lot of respect for positioning himself as a woman beater. I just don't get it. Obviously my opinion does not coincide with the majority of fans, but this certainly isn't the first time, and won't be the last.

I really don't think Manson is looking to gain any new fans or attention, Since THEOL began it is almost reminscent of the small, intimate cult following that he has not had since the Spooky Kid days. Those who are a part of the Manson Community now are the fans that he has always seeked to appeal to. I think we all understand the art and message of Marilyn Manson and he has intentionally been alienating fans from the beginning, Think of the drastic transition from ACSS to Mechanical Animals that must have caused a huge rift in the fanbase and he must have lost a considerable amount of fans. I think he has found his "Target Audience" and does not really want or need radio airplay or any form of promotion other than amongst the tried and true fans such as ourselves. His message has always been about expressing himself through art regardless of whether people cared for it or called it offensive.

I've watched the video numerous times. The more I watch it, the more I'm seeing what it means and represents...
What I'm seeing is.. his struggle between the two extremes : marilyn monroe and charles manson personalities. It isn't just him beating the woman, its charles manson the angry side of him lashing out at her, in another sense, his torn self is "washing away all the sins", from his past relationships.
He comes out of his shell from the viel as a more human person.
He's estranged from his own personal hell. All the touring, all the women, all the drugs, all the hotels, jet lags, stage show exhaustions.
Take it all in and then let it all out.
He makes the video more personal. [it's why you didnt see any other band members in it.]
When the woman kept turnin her head back for another punch to the face... she wanted to be hit, because in one short moment, she feels herself up , smearing the blood all over her body.
The Marilyn of Manson is demonized and doesn't want to let go of him, so he beats it out of himself.
This is not domestic violence. This is self torture.
The story of love and hate.
I actually relate to this video in a huge way, by way of emotions.
Except there wasn't violence coming from myself to my ex, but there defenitly was 6 months of hell before leaving the relationship, and one thing I've always said "if murder was legal, i'd have killed her already."
Love is dangerous and this is what he's showing you.
He's tried to love another, only to be torn in the process.
I can defenitly see what he's trying to say with this video.
It isn't about if anyone is gonna stay with the video for 4 minutes...
Thats such a ridiculous thing to say, when its really a more human side of Marilyn Manson that we never get to see.
I was defenitly impacted by the video, even under the influence of marijuana. [I was heavily high off my mind, yet very in TUNE with the entire video.]
That is all I have to say.

I've read everything about THEOL and I'm still not convinced.I don't thing everything Manson does has a background,especially this video.
The last really original thing Manson did was Eat Me,Drink Me and we - fans - ruined it.All THEOL has is WOW and I Want To Kill You Like They Do In The Movies.Shows are shit,videos are shit,and fuck,even the interviews are shit.I just can't believe the fact that most of the people are too blind to see that this era is full of pure shit.

Doesn't anyone care that this girl is young, probably late teens, early 20s, and could very well but just any manson fan, like you or me. It may be symbolic of someone else, but what is Mansons beef these days with young people. We are is fan base for christs sake. Young girls, represent a huge majority of Manson fans, I find this video terrific, I do, but I can sense the narcisitic and quite insulting quality, of beating up a young girl, in a video. The fact that EMDM, and THEOL, are both about a young girl, and Dita has barely a mention, is kinda gross. They were together for 5 years. Am I the only one who notices how insulting the message is getting. Why not just write a song "My fans are stupid teenage girls, who will probably buy this record no matter how much effort I put into it"

Actually, for years I'd say the past 10 years, to be exact, the argument on FOXNEWS, CNN, whatever news network decides to roll the same old story about Manson being a promoter of violence, I was able to credibly deny such statements to my family. As a teenager, I could tell my parents, no see, the message is parody, or the message is provocative, but in the "violence" is them, not me. Attitude. With this video, no longer can that statement be made. No longer can I say, that Manson himself doesn't promote violence. This is Manson himself, doing some very violent things, even though its totally fake, it doesn't matter if it is a girl, you're right Galaxy Girl, it could be a dog, or a hampster, and PETA would say it was animal cruelty, it could be a Fag, and it would be a hate crime promoting video.
This video isn't new, Prodigy, did the Smack My Bitch Up, video ages and ages ago. And even then it was questionable. I realize Gasper Noe has some very interesting cinema that shows the same things, but since this is Manson, and his primary outlet is music, I can no longer say that Manson doesn't use his music to promote violence. This sort of misogyny is the sort of thing that Lady Gaga told us, me included, in her speech on Capital Hill, that she stood against.

This video will not affect me personally, nor will it change my love of mansons music, but for a lot of youngsters, who have parents, who may see this video, it may leave them defenseless against nagging parents saying that he promotes violence. You may think, why should I care? Well because I'm a fan and as a fan, don't we have a say in some way, to promote these artists towards better messages?
